Taylor Johnson’s hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada, better known as the “Sin City”! The city where partygoers from all over the world come to submerse themselves in the city of lights. Year-round, tourists by the thousands flock to get a taste of the clubs, casinos, and the plethora of restaurants that the “Sin City” has to offer. Again, while the strip is considered the heartbeat of the city, some unsung heroes make the city what it is known for.

Locals operate thousands of businesses that function daily to keep the city of Las Vegas the huge attraction that it is. Also not to mention, the enormous amount of employees it takes to keep tourism a reason worth existing. While tourists come to Las Vegas to explore their sins and vices, the real sin for a local is to not have a hustler’s spirit. A spirit that my friend Taylor Johnson possesses.

Living La Vida Local

As a born and raised Las Vegas native, Taylor Johnson was able to see the city grow year after year. The expansion within the city limits rarely ends. She has witnessed the growth of it all in the last 20 years, on and off of the main strip. In her early working years, Taylor entered the hospitality field where she gained experience with networking and high-quality customer service.

While working in the hospitality field, Johnson decided to further her higher education in the medical field. Her catering servitude and experience in hospitality meshed well with the idea of better serving her community. Equally important, just like most young adults in their early 20s, it’s all about finding the right opportunity to work hard and play hard. I mean, it is Vegas after all.

Taylor Johnson’s Climb in Real Estate

Although partying is always a good time in Vegas, Johnson’s family life kept her balance with wanting more out of life. As a single mother of a daughter at the time, her priority was to provide a quality of life filled with great memories that would last a lifetime. Furthermore, to do so, Johnson had to think outside of the box and take a leap of faith in changing careers yet again. This time it was the start of her climb into real estate.

Switching careers to real estate was always an interest for Johnson due to the opportunities in the business. Moreover, things led her into the career sooner than she’d expected. While still in hospitality and now on maternity leave with a second daughter, Johnson was losing clients due to COVID which prompted her to start real estate school in around August of 2021.

Getting her real estate license was not a difficult decision but more so a scary decision. However, regardless of how she felt, Johnson went into real estate fully committed to the process of becoming a realtor despite the circumstances. She knew that a new start in real estate would be difficult so she took every opportunity to learn from those who were willing to offer any knowledge as long as they had more experience than her.

Here and Now

Looking into the present, it has been over two years since Johnson earned her real estate license and needless to say, she is thriving in the business. Selling house after house and putting families in homes that they have never fathomed has been a motivation to grow in the business. However, with any business, there are uncertainties and challenges come with climbing the ladder to success. Though many on the outside looking in look at realty as an easy payday, many unforeseen circumstances come with the business.

Johnson learned that when things go left in real estate, it is just business and nothing personal. With that mindset, she developed a mental fortitude that reflects, “Work harder!”. She noticed that sometimes buyers want a more experienced realtor or even sometimes make the decision to opt out of a home altogether. With the understanding that those challenges exist, she commits herself to research, homework, and creating the ultimate customer service experience.

The Competitor

Overcoming challenges isn’t easy for most people. Most people who are in pursuit of their goals and face challenges end up reverting to what makes them more comfortable. This is not the case with Johnson. Coming to grips with the idea of challenges surfacing, Johnson raises the bar by confidently promoting herself as the realtor you need. By no means is Johnson trying to convince herself of her abilities, but more so letting her abilities do the talking while she outworks the competition. Of course, there is a competitive nature in real estate. However, servitude is the driving force of winning.

The idea of helping others motivates her to continue the business. This makes her a better competitor in the market while making families’ dreams come to reality. Because of her purpose to help, Johnson can relate to the idea of taking a leap of faith and working hard for the best outcome. With every family she provides a service to, she is reminded by their joy that she too turned her dream into a reality.

The Future of Taylor Johnson

When asked what motivates Johnson to be successful, she responded, “Family”. As a wife and mother, being a provider and a role model to her daughters is important to the success of her career. This takes away any fear that she has regarding the competitiveness of being in real estate. After being discounted at times for having lack of experience, she knows that one day the experienced will eventually retire and she will be next to take the mantle in the city of sin.

The future of Johnson is a bright one for sure. Although her main focus is to grow her name and credibility in Las Vegas, Nevada, Johnson does have the desire to expand her growing expertise to other locations across the country. Because Johnson knows that her children are watching her, she desires to simply work as hard as she possibly can. One of her goals is to continuously put herself in front of Las Vegas and show the city what she is capable of.

The Example

For most, it is impossible. For some, it’s a challenge. For Taylor Johnson, it is an undeniable goal. From humble beginnings to an ambitious career change, Johnson continues to be undenied in what she desires. Her passion for serving others makes her a genuine agent in real estate.
